Most of us remember where we were on the morning of September 11, 2001. The sacrifices made that day by firefighters, police officers and EMS providers were incredible. Hundreds of brave men and women lost their lives that day in service to others.
Across America hundreds more brave men and women continue to serve our communities, putting their lives on the line and sacrificing daily to ensure our safety. Sadly, these careers have a profound impact on the first responder and their families. In addition to the physical risks, first responders face critically high divorce rates (over 80% nationally). Yet, they continue to serve us all, with quiet heroism and very little recognition. |
September 11, 2009, will mark a special evening to honor and thank those who serve us every day. You can help make this happen. Your support, by sponsoring a table, will allow four first responder couples to attend while allowing you and your guest to join with them, in a night of honor, tribute, music, and special programming to recognize and thank the emergency responders.
All proceeds from this event will support Responder Life, a non-profit organization with a mission to strengthen emergency responders and their families, in the face of the daily stresses of these careers and in serving our ever changing world.
